Trentham - Monday 25th April

A Monday morning made even better for the 82 golfers that made their way to Trentham Golf club, Open qualifying venue. They were greeted by blue skies and crisp wind, and as the day went on

the temperature started to rise... as did the scores. Trentham was a tough test for our golfers, as the club has recently gone through a bunker maintenance programme on the front nine. It would have played a different course to what I did 14 years ago. Martin Hall also was spotted in the clubhouse, a golf channel pro expert and a Trentham golf member.

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces as well as welcome new faces to the tour. We welcome our golfers with all handicaps and filter them into their own index related divisions, which is a great way to make the individual competition is as fair as possible. We love to see the eager golfers sitting back in the club house checking out the leaderboard on their phones and on the tv screen too. Fair play to our golfers who had a nice pint or two as their pre round warm up. We salute you!

Well done to Scott Rimmer, Paul Sidwell, Aidi Bennett and Alex Copson for their nearest the pin

triumphs and to Jan Sheargold and Old Clews for their longest drive spot prizes. Notable mention to Oli Clews for a 320 yards drive and Alex Copson for his nearest the pin of 23 inches.

Well done to all! See you at the next event.
