Romsey Singles - Monday 15th August

Today we ventured down to the outskirts of Southampton to Romsey Golf Club, a challenging 5700 yard par 69 course surrounded by mature woodland and well protected by well position deep bunkers.
The club which celebrated its centenary in 2000 moved to its present site in 1924 it was originally a 9 hole course laid out by George Kirby the professional from Stoneham.
There were more than a few notable shots to speak of today, Tommy Brammer’s huge 310 yard drive up the 18th as well as Ian Alexander shot to win Nearest the pin on the very tricky uphill 200 yard par 3 with a 3 tiered green - Ian’s (who was in the last group of the day) shot landed just short of the green and rolled perfectly round the contours of the green to finish just
inside the nearest the pin marker.
Today's best Dressed Golfer was James Beck sporting a flowery pair of shorts with again a rather flowery top.
