Ely - Thursday 4th August

A beautiful day today at Ely golf club, with Henry Cotton designing the parkland course located on the outskirts of the city.
170 golfers took part today in an action packed tee sheet.
Todays best dressed golfers were the flamingo boys, Barry Dodd and Ben smith.
A great start to the day for Dave Blake who won the nearest the pin on the 2nd hole and his shot stayed the closest all day on the 155 yard par 3.
The longest drive competition was ever changing throughout the day, the winner of the mens was Lee flory and the ladies winner was Alisa Fraser. Well done to both players.
A strong field battled away and the top two teams who emerged were both Ely members - you just can't beat local knowledge!
We move even further east tomorrow into Norfolk and to Royal Cromer.
